Tunisia
My trip to Tunisia was an enchanting and unforgettable experience in the vibrant heart of North Africa, where modernity seamlessly blends with thousands of years of history. The journey began in the capital, Tunis, where I wandered through the narrow alleys of the ancient Medina, filled with the aroma of spices and the bustle of traditional markets, before heading to the charming cliffside village of Sidi Bou Said, which took my breath away with its iconic blue-and-white houses overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. I felt the profound weight of history while exploring the ancient ruins of Carthage and the majestic Roman Amphitheater of El Jem, both showcasing the grandeur of past civilizations. The adventure reached its peak in the Tunisian south, where I was captivated by lush green oases and the serene simplicity of the Sahara Desert amidst rolling golden sand dunes. Ultimately, the warm hospitality of the Tunisian people and the delicious local cuisine, like traditional couscous and mint tea with pine nuts, made this trip a deeply enriching cultural adventure that will remain etched in my memory forever.
